Formation of KUSA
After the formation of KUPA, KU management has to deal with another organization Kathmandu University Staff Association (KUSA). After the blatant attack on one of the highly respected and capable officer Danda Pani Acharyajee, KU Staffs have risen to occasion so that they can exercise their rights to association without hindrance. Apart from respected professors like Dr. Boris Niraula, there are many amongst KU staff who are sidelined by nepotistic administration of Suresh Raj Sharma and Sitaram Adhikary. The main reason why these staffs, who are sons of ordinary Nepalese, are sidelined is related with the feudal mindsets of Suresh Raj Sharma and Sitaram Adhikary.
Since Suresh Raj and Sitaram are hell bent in running the affairs of KU with strict control, they have always been afraid of others staffs occupying prominent position in KU. To conceal their arbitrariness and corruption, they would never allow other staffs to have a look at most of the financial documents. Moreover, wary of being caught red-handed, these administrators are in habit of spreading some baseless rumors related with personal character, work efficiency and caliber to check the growth of the honest staffs and teachers in KU. By maintaining such psychological strategy, they have frustrated many such diligent staffs in KU. Consequently, KU has always remained an underperforming organization where no personnel are assigned suitable responsibilities.
Aware of these biased mentalities of Suresh Raj and Sitaram, the staffs of KU have no other choice except raising their common voice together with the professors of KU. Every respectable worker, both administrative staff and academic staff, has every right to form their association and demand an environment to work with dignity in KU for the betterment of the KU. Similarly, exploited by inefficient teachers like Dr. Bhola Thapa, Mr. Manish Pokhrel, Mr. Brijesh Adhikary, KU students should not remain silent. They have paid for their education and they have every right to demand fair deal from both the teachers and the administrators. If KU administration are not ready to do away with such inefficient teachers, the students must make their voice heard. Demanding one’s rights are neither politics nor extremism. Rather it is pragmatism and maturity.
KUSA! All the Best!
