KU service : No domain of common Nepalis

KATHMANDU UNIVERSITY, Feb 9 - Candidates from families of Suresh Raj Sharma and Sitaram Adhikary are ahead of others in entering KU jobs while an increasing number of women members of these families are also breaking into this traditional famiy bastion. However, there is not much encouraging news for common Nepalese who want to see our KU service becoming inclusive, reflecting the rich university of the country. An analysis of the last 15 years' data published by the JanaAstha and Kantipur (PSC) shows that candidates from Sharma and Adhikary families took almost strategic KU jobs out of all types of Jobs in KU since its inception in 1991.

Candidates of Suresh Raj and Sitaram family had almost landslide success in the successive years’ examination. Since1994 alone, applicants with poor background captured many academic and administrative vacancies offered by the KU Service Commission.

Since about 99.9999 percent of Nepalis do not have any links with Suresh Raj and Sitaram, their domination in the KU service is understandably poor but candidates from such backgrounds have entered into KU service due to bootlicking and other licking practices only. Bhola Thapa, who recently became famous after forcing his technician Buddhi Bahadur Bishwokarma to commit suicide, is one of such people coming from neighbourhood of Sitaram Adhikary.

General Administration Chief, Mukunda Bhakbhak Upadhyaya, who is also an expert in goonda mobilization and younger sibling of Dalit Killer Sadhu Suresh Raj, says that Nepalis' children generally have modest bootlicking and corruption capability and so KU admin finds it difficult to provide jobs to them. "So they often are sacked from KU when they stop bootlicking and ask for their rights.” He Said, “ Look at the case of Amit Verma and Surendra K.C., these are examples in that direction.” When asked him about some challenges in Nepali Blogs to fire if Suresh Raj can, he said that he does not consider blogs as media. “Blogs are diaries. You can write anything there. In my diary, I have written everything from collection of commission to embezzlement of funds in constructions of KU buildings.” He said. “Why should I put these details in Public domain?” He thundered. It is notable that his two brothers were already entertained by Akhtiyaar or CIAA(Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority). In such situation, no body expects them to start their own blogs and tell the people how they have looted KU so far.

Statistics also show a rise in the number of corruption cases in KU since the fiscal year of 1991, a total of 420 corruption cases are attributed to Suresh Raj Sharma and Sitaram Adhikary in KU. And this has increased whenever their relatives applied for vacancies announced by the KU Service Commission. In the ensuing academic years, the number of family applicants steadily rose and others are following them. Bhadraman has already hired his only one son. Pushparaj is also waiting for his children to grow up and become asst. controller or asst. HOD of Math. Pushparaj hates to be dean of Science again and he considers that he was fired by Suresh Raj for good job as dean of Science. While drinking in Dhulikhel, Pushparaj has made a solemn promise that he would make Mukunda Incharge of KU Gate Security after Suresh Raj leave KU.

Similarly, a number of other senior professors is also waiting for their chances to try their hands on Mukunda. "With departure of Suresh Raj, only one person to be orphaned in KU will be Bhakbhake Kancho," KU sources informed. Moreover, in 2006 alone Mukunda has earned many personal enemies by mobilizing goondas.

Likewise, data shows a gradual fall in Dalit employees in KU. In fiscal year 2007, the percent of Dalit candidate leaving KU after committing suicide in KU has touched 100%. This figure can rise as Suresh Raj is still using his old tricks and threatening people with dire consequences. Buddhi Bahadur Bishwakarma committed suicide when Suresh Raj and Bhola Thapa threatened him to defame. What were actual threats are under investigation but everybody is silenced with thick wad of money by Suresh Raj.

After Sharma and Adhikary, the two families which dominate the KU bureaucracy, Bhadraman family is ahead of others in making Nepotism possible in KU service. Though the data shows a significant rise in the number of members from these families, only a few are successful in delivering good performance. Only 14 percent of KU jobs were performed by them in comparison to other Nepalis in the last fifteen years, yet they are provided with 86% percent facilities in KU. Of the total recruitment in the past 15 years from these families in KU, all of them were useless, worthless and nonsense.

The analysis shows that with these incompetent rascals in KU, KU will no longer be able to provide quality education and the symbol of excellence will be exposed very soon.
