In search of Justice

Any University runs into a great danger when its administrators go blind. Being preoccupied with the fear of losing his own power, a blind ruler cannot see neither legitimacy in demands of faculties and staffs nor the tears of a hapless widow. When faculties, staffs and students cannot find any compassion in their administrators, they go in search of another administrator. So what happened in Mahabharata is happening in KU also!

Vision for a good academic leadership is neither acquired from books nor is handed down by great advisors. They come from simple process of separating universal truth from all the plethora of problems and scenarios that float around us and then extracting them to solve a problem at hand. But, the hunger for power and position has blinded the “visionary leadership” of KU for rather long. A blind obsession for power was to be assumed in Suresh Raj because he had long been embedded with the message that he created KU, and he did not need to care for hiring his worthless but lovely daughter and useless and ugly sons of Sitaram.

However, what comes from the intellects of him - after official harassment triggered suicide of Budhhi Bahadur Bishwakarma – does not bode a good omen for future of KU. Although Suresh Raj has claimed to have spent his life in academia, he has repeatedly behaved as if he has some kind of permanent blockage in the link between his knowledge and wisdom. Every time people give him some benefit of doubt and things start going normal, he quickly finds some way to end one or another life. Within a few months of being questioned by a popular movement fomented due to the excesses of his nepotism and corruption, Suresh Raj stood to deny the stakeholders of KU the right to organization and academic freedom. At a time when his mouth was saying that organizations would bring politics in KU, his Nepotism party was silently plotting to kill and throw out diligent staffs of KU. May be a donkey will never be a horse no matter how old it grows and how long he continues to be VC in KU.

Any person who thinks that he has helped develop KU must know that he did it for his own benefits only. Suresh Raj constructed building because he saw profit there for him. When KU buildings are completed, Suresh Raj has secretly completed some other buildings. Suresh Raj always showed buildings and so called infrastructure to every one who visited KU and tried to impress them that he is a real developer. And our political class bought his arguments because political class is visibly more corrupt than Suresh Raj. But if our leaders were to turn a few pages in personal history of Suresh Raj, they would find that no one can match ruthlessness of Suresh Raj. Politicians are accountable to people. They are accused of being murderer, they are accused of being corrupt, they are accused of being abusers and their fate was always decided by the people themselves. But, what happens when one accuses of one vice-chancellor, one dean and one registrar of harassing a dalit to kill himself? People can not decide the fate of a VC like that of a politician. The fate of VC needs to be decided by senate, and Chancellor.

Today, Suresh Raj is openly accused of throttling a voice in KU and no body is coming forward to arrest this thug.

Why it is so?

Is Suresh Raj a real mafia who has bought every thing from media to police?

Is Suresh Raj a real mafia whose crimes are never questioned because of fear of reprisal?

So, if history has taught us any lesson, let us not pick stuffs from the dustbin of history even if they had worked well in their times to fight against this mafia raj. Let us move towards combinedly to overthrow Suresh Raj for the future of KU that we want to build and adapt to the call of time. Let us not beg for his resignations and cooperation from senate. To protect universal equality of organizational rights and freedom, we need to tackle every bootlicker of Suresh Raj from Bhola Thapa, Tadpole Bhadra Man to Domesticated animal Pushpe Raj Adhikary. Let us struggle through our own intellect and ability to fight with these bootlickers. And to begin this process let us first accept that that every faculty is equally pure and worthy of being dean, registrar, controller and VC in KU. Then we will find how many great sons and daughters of the ordinary mothers of Nepal will take on Suresh Raj. Then we will be able to shelve the rule of nepotism, corruption and fiefdom for ever! This should be our path in search of justice. Once we get justice in KU, We will be free and liberated.
