Suresh Raj! Resign

It is utter naivety on the part of Suresh Raj Sharma to believe that we would stop our pen. In fact, it will neither stop, nor will it keep on not exposing nefarious designs of Suresh Raj in KU. The highhandedness of Suresh Raj will only widen the rift between his corrupt and nepotistic regime and the freedom loving staffs and faculty members. And it is certain to invite more termination and deaths in KU if Suresh Raj continues with his threats, intimidations, and mobilization of criminal elements against faculties and staffs of KU. The government has remained obdurate, showing no intention to reciprocate the demands of the faculties and students of KU. The monopoly of Suresh Raj in KU will have to be reined in by none other than Government of Nepal. It is unfortunate that the Nepal government is still not able to throw out this sick mind from KU.

The faculties and staffs as well as NUTA have urged the government to take strict actions against supporters of Royal regime, and has also urged the latter to ensure academic freedom in KU. Many intellectuals and ex-faculties have supported KU faculties’ call and have reiterated the need for the Government of Nepal to sack Suresh Raj and facilitate the academic excellence, freedom and honesty in KU. They have even published long articles in leading newspapers of Nepal as to how Suresh Raj is presiding over corrupt system in KU. On the contrary, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has given unchecked powers to Suresh Raj to fire anybody he chooses. The academic fraternity of US, India and the UK would have already enraged had there been such practices of appeasing an administrator over demands of hundreds of wise and intellectual faculties and staffs. Unfortunately, our country and our academia has always remained hostage to a powerful few.

The Suresh Raj regime may be expecting that we will buckle down and desert the field for his supporters to unleash havoc in KU. We believe it's only the wishful thoughts of some sycophants of Suresh Raj regime . At a time when we are showing an example to entire Nepali blogosphere how to resist a monolithic despot like Suresh Raj, there is no chance that we will quit so easily. Moreover, the huge responsibility of maintaining academic honesty and free academic environment in KU make us firmly believe that we should continue to blog till "autocratic regime " of Suresh Raj is defeated. Hence, we sincerely request Suresh Raj to resign and cancel (if not, at least postpone) all previous decisions related to termination of jobs of KU staffs. We also urge faculties and staffs of KU to continue their fight against Suresh Raj till he is defeated. Suresh Raj, stop killing innocent Dalits and resign for better academic environment in KU.
